TIGR Matrix

Long-Term Resorbable Surgical Mesh | Novus Scientific

Strong When You Need It. Gone When You Don't.

TIGR® Matrix is an innovative, 100% synthetic, long-term resorbable surgical mesh designed to provide reliable soft tissue reinforcement during healing while gradually transferring mechanical support to the body's natural tissue.

Unlike permanent surgical meshes, TIGR Matrix utilizes dual-stage resorption technology, combining fast- and slow-resorbing fibers to provide initial strength, support tissue remodeling, and ultimately resorb over time.

Key Benefits of TIGR® Matrix

  • Dual-Stage Resorption: Combines two synthetic fibers with different degradation rates to provide mechanical support throughout the healing process.

  • Long-Term Tissue Support: Designed to maintain mechanical strength for more than six months, with complete resorption expected in approximately three years.

  • 100% Synthetic & Non-Animal Derived: Provides an alternative to biologic and permanent synthetic meshes.

  • Supports Tissue Integration: A macroporous, warp-knitted structure facilitates tissue ingrowth and gradual load transfer to native tissue.

  • Soft & Pliable: Designed for easy handling, positioning, suturing, and customization during surgery.

  • Ready to Use: No soaking, rinsing, or additional preparation required.

  • Cost-Conscious Alternative: Offers an option for facilities evaluating the costs of biologic and synthetic reinforcement materials.

The Science Behind TIGR Matrix

TIGR Matrix incorporates two types of synthetic fibers engineered to degrade at different rates.

Stage 1 — Initial Support

The mesh provides mechanical reinforcement during the early phases of tissue healing.

Stage 2 — Gradual Load Transfer

As the fibers degrade, mechanical loads are progressively transferred from the mesh to the developing native tissue.

Stage 3 — Complete Resorption

The mesh is designed to fully resorb over approximately three years, avoiding the need for a permanent synthetic implant.
